Steve Gatlin is a lifelong photographer, turned journalist, turned filmmaker and creative director. From a very young age he found fascination in cameras and their ability to capture moments in time with pictures. The evolution of his craft led him to becoming a Combat Correspondent in the Marine Corps, then upon successful completion of active duty weaving his way into the world of documentary filmmaking. Gatlin has since created multiple award-winning feature and short length films on a vast array of subjects throughout the United States, Central America, and the African Continent.
Much like a camera can record visual memories, the practice of journaling can be an equally important to chronical one’s thoughts, emotions and experiences. For this, the “A Reason to Journal” series was created. By providing quality, yet affordable journals, some with prompts, Gatlin hopes that anyone and everyone will take time to themselves to reflect within and record on paper for the present and future.
